Abstract

The present research aimed to develop secondary stage students’ EFL oracy competences through the implementation of an integrative program based on Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Task-Based Learning (TBL). A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design with experimental and control groups was adopted. The participants comprised sixty second-year secondary school students who were equally assigned to the two groups during the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The study instruments included an EFL oracy competences checklist, which was validated by a panel of experts, an EFL oracy competences test, and observation sheet, administered before and after the treatment. The experimental group received instruction through the proposed integrative program, whereas the control group was taught using conventional methods. The results revealed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in EFL oracy competences. The findings confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed program and demonstrated the large impact of integrating Communicative Language Teaching and Task-Based Learning on enhancing students’ oral language performance and communicative abilities......
