Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of crop loan utilization among farmers in Kalaburagi District, focusing on how efficiently borrowed funds are applied toward agricultural activities. It analyzes factors influencing proper utilization, such as awareness, financial literacy, farm size, and access to institutional credit. The study also evaluates the impact of crop loans on agricultural productivity, income levels, and farmers’ repayment capacity. Findings indicate that while crop loans support agricultural operations, challenges like diversion of funds, inadequate guidance, and delayed disbursement reduce their effectiveness. The study suggests strengthening monitoring mechanisms, enhancing financial awareness, and improving credit delivery systems to ensure optimal utilization and sustainable agricultural development
